Unmemory
Unmemory
A game to be read, a book to be played.
Unmemory lives at the crossroad between literature and videogames, taking advantage of the best of both worlds. It tells the story of a person desperately searching for the man who murdered his girlfriend. However, the difficulty of locating the killer is only made worse by the fact that he suffers from a rare and untreatable form of amnesia.
The result is an experience that tests our ability to solve a mystery, but above all, makes us feel inside the story.

The Challenge
Such an irreverent story, with such an unconventional format, deserved a very edgy visual identity, able to convey a certain discomfort and, at the same time, be very appealing to readers/players.
The Solution
We wanted Unmemory's visual identity to look like it came from a 90's film noir, when knotty movies with amoral protagonists and unchecked darkness were flourishing once again in Hollywood. We decided to use collage, handwriting and a mix of full color with black and white illustrations as the basis of the visual universe of the app.

Unmemory is full of 90's references so by including iconic gadgets from those years we were able to immerse the user in the world that the developers had created.

The result is a memorable experience that tests our deductive skills, broadens the vision of what games (and books) could be and introduces us to a disturbing and addictive universe.
But above all, it makes us feel like the protagonist.
