Where the streets teach
What do people in Brazil say when someone delivers something incredibly smart, true, and on point? Aulas, which translates to “lessons,” Like delivering a masterclass.
That’s Brazilian hip hop. Born in the streets of its cities, it teaches life lessons through rhythm, shaped by both the foundations of old school rap and the energy of the new global wave.
Over the past decades, hip hop in Brazil has evolved into a powerful cultural movement, fueled by innovation, inclusion, social struggle, experimentation, and creative fusion.
In Aulas, Spotify’s Brazilian hip hop playlist, you’ll find real stories, the pulse of the streets, boom bap and contemporary vibes, unexpected blends of rock, funk, and pop, a cultural bridge connecting generations and styles.

Cities that speak
To shape its visual identity, we turned to grapixo, a native graffiti style rooted in pixo, the cryptic fusion of letters and symbols that emerged in São Paulo in the 1980s as a graphic language of protest in public spaces.
Grapixo adds color and graffiti elements to pixo, amplifying its visibility, often in places that are hard to reach, and impossible to ignore.
Across the playlist covers, the word “Aulas” appears in a bold grapixo style layered over portraits of different artists, blending voice, city, and identity into one visual statement.

From Fortaleza to Porto Alegre, from Rio to São Paulo, the urban spirit speaks loud and clear, and finds its place in this playlist.
